For getting some programming ideas to use with our spinner, I decided to request some help from freecodecamp.org forum. You can find our talks here
I would like to thank Owel for his great ideas. Today’s challenge is the one he offered.
Binary arithmetics is one of the most important topics in programming. Data in computers is stored and transmitted as a series of 0 and 1. How can we describe words and numbers using just these two symbols?
We are using base 10 for our daily life, but computers use base 2 for all operations. It is important to learn binary arithmetics to be a good programmer. I found this pdf from csunplugged.org which may help you to understand binary numbers. It also shows a nice exercise that you can try in your class.
Today’s Challange is binary counting with Lightino’s on board LEDs. We have 8 LEDs so we can count up to 255. Try to write code to increment a stored value from 0 to 255 in each loop. Use the on board rotation sensor which will be triggered while turning.
